'Twas the night before Christmas And all through the Jail
Every Inmate was celebrating Even those with No Bail.
All the Deputies were feeling Relaxed with no fear
Because Santa Jeff was here To spread Christmas cheer.
Outside of the Jail There were big guns and danger
Two businesses in Longwood
Their owners with such anger!
Yet inside The Slammer All inmates were safe
From the Knives that do cut And the Bullets that strafe.
Lt Seipel took care of Special Inmates needing help
There was Kerry, there was Julián Even Santa Jeff himself
Yes, there were regulations, Yes, there were rules
Yes, there was a need for order, For some Inmates were Fools!
Like Monty from Canada Where fall many snowflakes
Monty thought himself invincible What a mistake!
Monty threatened Santa Jeff With many a Witness
Using Brass Knuckles and Knife He would end Jeff with a quickness!
But Jeff would no longer Cower in Fear
He had chosen that Pathway For too many years
No, there would be no more Depressed Hibernation
Because Lt. Seiple would enforce This Category I Violation
All the Reindeer celebrated! Santa Jeff would stay alive!
Even more than Survive! He could perhaps even Thrive!
Evil Deputy Carron Had put Jeff in a Vice
Jeff had to defend HimSelf Whether Naughty or Nice
Yet over time, thank God, Sacred Trust was restored!
Santa Jeff received Commissary Thank the Lord! Never bored!
Yet this night before Christmas Jeff had one special Wish
To delivery commissary gifts To those on his Nice list
But the rules! Regulations! Laws! Cultural norms!
This Jail must have Order, To guide Ships through the Storms!
Lt. Seiple had a decision And a hard one 'twas
Whether or not to grant his wish Like a God from above
Like any good Cajun, Santa Jeff loved his cards
Memories of Joy and Laughter Helped to cover the Scars
Tommy Bimbo was his Friend
All the way. To the end.
If only they could play cards. All the sadness would end
For only two hours! That is all they would need!
With two others of Tommy's choosing The idea was a Seed!
Planted, watered In her cold heart could it grow?
A Christmas Miracle was needed To melt the ice and snow.
Santa Jeff would be left waiting. Alone. Once again.
For a Motherly Figure. To act like a Friend.
Would he be ignored? Once again? Like for so many years?
Could he have a few Laughs? Or only Oceans of Tears?
There would be no answers Coming his way (this day)
Like all Children Jeff had to wait Until Christmas Day!
